EXFO Context deployed for improved end-to-end network visibility and data quality management.
QUEBEC CITY, June 17, 2025 — EXFO, the communications industry’s test, monitoring and analytics experts, today announced that Vodafone Germany has licensed EXFO Context, a knowledge graph-based semantic modelling solution that provides unparalleled end-to-end network and service visibility, and actionable data-based insights. Now live at Vodafone, EXFO Context models the multi-layered, multi-technology network, supporting numerous departments addressing service assurance and service fulfilment use cases.
Serving both mobile and fixed network operations, EXFOContext contributes to Vodafone’s Zero-Touch Automation initiatives as part of the telecommunications company’s wider digital transformation goals. Vodafone will use EXFO’s platform to create a detailed ‘digital twin’ of its network and services. This will automate assurance and fulfilment tasks including service impact, root cause analysis, smart network planning, security, and optimization.
Advancing digital transformation and trustworthy GenAI
EXFO Context’s ontology-driven semantic model provides the foundation for Generative AI integration, enabling a natural language interface to configuration and service data traditionally locked in siloed inventory and Configuration Management DataBase (CMDB) systems. Vodafone can now evaluate the impact of faults or planned maintenance in real time through automated updates, change audits, and service impact analysis, ensuring robust change management and operational consistency.
This same semantic foundation supports the evolution toward autonomous network operations. By creating a dynamic, service-aware digital twin, EXFO Context enables closed-loop automation and allows Large Language Models (LLMs) to interact meaningfully with structured network data, accelerating root cause identification, impact reasoning, and AI-driven decision-making within the Network Operations Centre (NOC) and beyond.
“EXFO’s solutions help our customers achieve and maintain accurate models of their networks, enabling high-quality insights for better decision-making, and seamlessly supporting automated processes. We’re delighted that Vodafone Germany has licensed our transport assurance solution to deliver actionable, data-based insights as part of their digital transformation, and laying the foundation for Generative AI integration,” said Wim te Niet, Vice President Global Sales at EXFO.
“At Vodafone, we are resolutely advancing digitization in Germany and beyond, and to that end we are adopting the best technologies available to deliver quality of service for our customers. With EXFO’s digital twin solution, we are well positioned to fulfil our digital transformation strategy of making our network ‘zero-touch’ via automation,” said Andreas Quiskamp, Senior Manager Network Engineering at Vodafone.
